Pre-Chrismas growth for CSL
Upholstery chain CSL enjoyed a pre-Christmas sales boost.
Like for like sales were 3.3% higher in the four weeks to Boxing Day with total sales 36.8% higher.
Sales for 2011 are expected to be £80m, up £10m.
'The combination of reduced household expenditure and job insecurity has led to significantly reduced footfall across Britain's retail parks. Despite this fairly bleak backdrop, we've managed to win over new customers and increase our market share,' says Jason Tyldesley, CSL md.
'Being family owned and debt-free, we've had the ability to invest in our brand – in new stores, technology, marketing, customer service and product – while maintaining a highly competitive pricing strategy.'
Tyldesley says it benefited from offering a three day delivery on a range of sofas.
