Boffi in copying protest
Furniture and kitchen company Boffi has resigned from the Italian furniture trade association Federlegno in protest at what is says is increasing levels of copying among Italian manufacturers.
'This is a consequence of the insufficient attention that Federlegno dedicates to the phenomenon of products imitation among Italian companies,' says the company.
'During last ISalone some important companies, for both size and brand, have introduced products too similar to their competitors' ones. It has become a very common phenomenon flattening more and more the offer and pushing the Italian furniture world to lose image and originality.'
The company says it hopes its resignation will spur the association into action.
