MP's backing for Steed Upholstery
Steed Upholstery has received the backing of local MP Jessica Lee as she officially opened its new Long Eaton showroom.
In building the new showroom, disused warehouse space was utilised to create a 3,012sqft area to showcase the upholstery collection.
'The new showroom received some extremely positive comments from visitors, during Long Point,' says Caroline Steed, Steed Upholstery sales director. 'It's 1,300sqft larger than our old one and presents the perfect backdrop for the Steed collection.
'It demonstrates our confidence in the future and represents strong retailer support, with our stockists able to use the facility by appointment with their own customers.'
Lee, the MP for Erewash praised Steed for maintaining UK production. 'In Erewash we have a long and proud heritage of upholstery and furniture making. Although this highly skilled industry has seen a decline in recent years, firms like Steed's have ensured that Erewash remains at the very centre of the British upholstery and furniture making industry,' she says.
