Prestigious Textiles is to target the Chinese market with the opening of a showroom in Shanghai and a Chinese subsidiary.
The Prestigious China showroom will open at the end of August alongside the formal launch of the company at the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Fair (29-31 August).
Selected specifically for the Chinese domestic market, the initial portfolio offered by Prestigious China comprises 24 collections of fabrics for draperies, upholstery and home décor accessories, all presented in cut lengths, pieces and pattern books, together with the latest collections of Prestigious wallcoverings. The company will be supported by a daily courier service from Prestigious Textiles' headquarters in Bradford.
‘The Chinese market is developing rapidly in terms of its proportional disposable income and consumers are hungry for European products,’ says Trevor Helliwell, Prestigious Textiles chairman. ‘Although we have maintained a presence in China for a number of years, the establishment of Prestigious China means we now have a sales force which is responsible exclusively for sales of Prestigious products to the retail sector across the country.’
