The National Bed Federation is calling for entries as the 2013 Bed Industry Awards officially open. Businesses of all shapes and sizes are invited to enter or put forward nominees for one of the five categories - Independent Bed Retailer of the Year, Multiple Bed Retailer of the Year, Bed Etailer of the Year, Bed Manufacturer of the Year and Bed Supplier of the Year.

Designer Karim Rashid heads the list of speakers for the 19-21 May event. The Interiors LDN exhibition, which takes part at ExCeL London, includes a comprehensive series of seminars.

Radley Designs, the UK distributor for Dutch bed brand M Line has, been appointed the UK agent for Belgian bed brand Velda. Radley Designs is run by Sally Edwards and Adrian Eyre who have more than 20 years of experience in the bedding industry managing premium mattress brands.

Lord Harris is to cut back on his day-to-day involvement at Carpetright as the chain's succession plan continues.
