The return of MFI as an online retailer has been confirmed – with an unexpected product offer.

The retailer, owned by Walker Group, is to hold a press preview in central London on 30 November promising 'furniture and accessories for the lounge, dining room, bathroom, bedroom and home office.'

No mention is made of kitchens, the former chain's largest seller, although given the reputation it acquired of not being able to fit them in one visit and Walker Group's inexperience in the market, this may prove to be a solid decision.

If the living room offer includes upholstery it will mark yet another change of heart on sofas. Over the years upholstery was introduced and then removed more than once from MFI stores as executives changed their minds. It even went as far as to buy Sofa Workshop before selling it.
