Cath Kidson profits leap
Upmarket furnishing and flooring brand Cath Kidson has seen profits almost double in the past year.
Buoyed by expansion in Japan and South Korea, where six stores opened, sales climbed 37% to £68.9m with operating profits increasing from £7.6m to £14.7m in the 53 weeks to April 2011.
The results are the first since Kidson sold a majority stake in the company to TA Associates, in a deal reported to have valued the firm at £100m. Kidson, who founded the company in 1993, still holds a minority stake and is its creative director.
