Administration looms
After closing nine of its 13 branches in the past two weeks, Lombok looks poised to enter its second administration in two years and largely move online after applying to the High Court to appoint an administrator.
Despite the closures, the retailer is expected to keep its Tottenham Court Road branch in central London and the concession in House of Fraser’s Oxford Street store.
Founded in 1998, Lombok grew to 19 stores before it was forced into a pre-pack administration in 2009, when Privet Capital bought the group.
‘Lombok is exploring all options as part of its restructuring and fully intends the Lombok brand to continue trading with a focus on its successful online offering and key flagship stores,’ said a Lombok statement.
