Brits help kick-start expo season

Heimtextil news image2014’s interiors traded exhibition season got underway yesterday (Wednesday) as Heimtextil kicked off with another strong British presence.

Some 79 UK companies, three more than 2013, (and four from the Republic of Ireland) came to Frankfurt to show the world their fabrics, wallcoverings and furnishings.

Many were concentrated at the UKFT/UK Trade and Investment stand. Moon debuted The Dales Collection, a 100% new wool range of furnishing fabrics inspired by the colours of the Yorkshire Dales; Lincrusta introduced the Neo with a contemporary striated design and Passeri, an all-over floral design; SketchTwenty3 was launched by Tim Wilman and Byron & Byron debuted the contemporary Halo range of curtain poles with chrome as an accent.Elsewhere, florals and geometric designs took centre stage among many wallcoverings and fabric designs. Typical was Maison Martin Margiela’s first wallcoverings collection in partnership with Omexco. The five strong range includes La Point de Croix, a design with large flower bouquets and La Mosaique, a traditional geometric marble mosaic print (pictured).

More from Frankfurt tomorrow, before the roadshow moves to Hannover, Cologne, Birmingham and Paris.
