Charles Wilson Carpets adopt Charity of the Year

charles wilsonHitchin-based  Charles Wilson Carpets is delighted to announce it has adopted The Garden House Hospice as its Charity of the Year for 2014/15.

The family run business is well known for its award-winning service and will encourage customers to join in with the fundraising, as Adam Wilson, Director explains: “Over the next year or so, we aim to raise more than £32,500 through a range of initiatives which will involve staff, customers and the local community. For instance, whenever we sell and fit carpet or flooring, we'll give our customers a Garden House Hospice come collection box for their loose change and/or foreign coins.  We will also be giving a £10 donation for every order placed over £1000 for the next year."

The firm will also be selling carpet and flooring off-cuts, with 100% of the sale price going to the Hospice – so if you are in need of a mat, a rug for the dog or even a full stair runner now's the time to come and look, there's always something new coming in. Adam also urges people to keep an eye on CWC's showroom on Hermitage Road as they'll be placing regular promotional ads for fundraising events in the window, for example next month's Hounds for the Hospice sponsored dog walk and afternoon Tea Delights, both being held on Sunday 22 June.

Karen Rabjohn is the new Head of Fundraising at the Hospice and is looking forward to working with CWC. “I'm delighted that such a great local business is supporting us in this way. Over the years, several of the staff at Charles Wilson Carpets have supported the hospice on an individual basis and I'm thrilled they've now made us their Charity of the Year. This will not only help to raise vitally needed funding, but also increase awareness of our services in the local area.”

The Garden House hospice is based in Letchworth and provides care to patients with life limiting illnesses. It has a 12 bed facility for in-patients and provides out-patient' day hospice and at-home care, as well as counselling support for patients, carers and their families. Opened in 1990, the Hospice serves the communities of Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Stevenage and surrounding areas.
