Habitat gears up for space dash
Habitat is to grow its retail space by a quarter by the end of the year.
The retailer has 65 concessions within Homebase branches and wants to increase this to 80 by the end of December.
The number of concessions has been growing this year as parent company Home Retail Group looks to make use of excess space at Homebase: in March there were 35 concessions.
‘Habitat is accessible to everybody and we appeal to people who are confident about their tastes. There will be ongoing investment into the brand. Now is a good time as retail spend is growing again and people feel more confident to take on bigger projects in the home,’ says Clare Askem, Habitat md.
HRG bought the Habitat brand and its three London stores in 2011.
