Kvadrat buys into Innvik Sellgren
Fabric and rug group Kvadrat has bought into Swedish textile manufacturer Innvik Sellgren.
The deal sees Kvadrat further increase its production capabilities on top of its part ownership of Wooltex in the UK and Gaudium in The Netherlands.
‘This formal partnership can be seen as a natural next step in a friendship that goes back 15 years and it allows us to further enhance our leadership in woolen textiles. Innvik’s capability and technology to rapidly produce special designs will enhance our possibilities to deliver custom-made woollen textiles to our clients. It will create a lot of opportunities for both clients and employees at Innvik,’ says Anders Byriel, Kvadrat ceo.
Already a significant production partner for the Kvadrat/Raf Simons collection, the collaboration between Innvik and Kvadrat will continue to focus on the production of wool as a core competence. Innvik with 125 years of tradition and experience is particularly strong in soft wools. Furthermore clients will gain access to the full Kvadrat collection including Kvadrat products produced by Innvik like Tokyo, Medina and Savanna.
‘This is wonderful news for both clients, employees and our local community. It is testament to how tradition, craftsmanship and a commitment to quality products render results and how Norwegian production is well worth the effort. It is particularly pleasing that we now stand to realise an expansive growth plan, which will benefit both partners,’ says Bjørn Aage Haugen, Innvik Sellgren ceo.
