BFM secures grant funding for I Salone Moscow Exhibitors

bfm logo Steve Moore, BFM Export Manager says they have secured grant funding from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to support companies wishing to attend the I Salone Worldwide, Moscow show (14th – 17th OCTOBER 2015). The funding is available to 10 companies on a first come, first served basis and offers £2,000 per exhibitor towards exhibiting costs. The offer is open to members and non-members of the BFM until May 29th.

18 New Members for Furniture Association

firaEighteen companies from across the furniture supply chain have joined the industry’s largest association.

Since January, the Furniture Industry Research Association has welcomed fourteen full members as well as three international and one associate member. New members include mattress retailer, Dormeo UK, office fit-out organisation, Hog Furnishing Ltd, and Hille Educational Products Limited, which produced the original polypropylene chair in 1963, still used in schools today.

Help to Buy: More than 7,000 homes sold under guarantee scheme

House7,313 homes have been sold so far under the Help to Buy mortgage guarantee scheme, the Treasury says.

The figures are the first comprehensive measure of the scheme since it was launched late last year.

The majority of sales were outside London, which will help the government to argue that it has not had a major effect on house prices.

Price cuts ‘deeper and wider’

20poundnotesRetailers continued to cut prices last month, setting a new record for deflation. Overall shop prices reported deflation for the ninth consecutive month in January, accelerating to 1.0% from 0.8% in December, according to the British Retail Consortium-Nielsen Shop Price Index.
