New ceo for BoConcept

BoConceptTorben Paulin will become the ceo of contemporary furniture and furnishings retailer BoConcept, after CEO Viggo Mølholm's decision to stand for election as chairman of the group after 17 years in the position.

Paulin has been at BoConcept since 2003 as sales and retail director.

The changes will all take effect over the August- September period.

Cabinet Reshuffle ....

The Morris Furniture Group are delighted to announce a reshuffle in National Sales Managers to their three cabinet divisions: G Plan Cabinets, Zone & Morris Furniture.

With immediate effect, Mr Paul Albutt is the new National Sales Manager for G Plan Cabinets, with Mr Kevin Barfoot taking over the same role for Morris Furniture and Mr Mike Conroy for Zone respectively. All three have a huge wealth of experience and giant standing within the cabinet industry and take control of their new positions within The Morris Furniture Group at an exciting time of expansion.

Joint MD for the entire group, Mr George McGraw, hailed the appointments by stating: “We warmly welcome all three gentlemen into their new roles and look forward to the qualities their personalities will bring to each brand and the company as a whole. Argos and sister chain Homebase have again seen sales drop and margins hit by currency and shipping costs. After an 8.6% like for like sales drop in the first quarter, Argos sales dropped 8.6% in the 13 weeks to 27 August. Total sales for the half were down 7.6% at £1.676bn. The chain blamed the weakness of the electrical market for the majority of the decline.
