Ikea reveals opening date of its second small format store and its third will be will its first in a city centre
Ikea has confirmed that its second small format store will open on 12 May while its third will have a city centre location.
The Aberdeen Order and Collection Point store will open on the Wellington Circle industrial estate south of the city.
‘We are delighted to be bringing this unique version of Ikea to Aberdeen. Today, customers in the region shop with us online but they have to travel considerable distances to our Edinburgh or Glasgow stores to see the range or get advice from our co-workers. The Order and Collection Point is a fantastic opportunity to connect all the ways you can shop with us in one place, right here in Aberdeen. We have had a lot of positive feedback for bringing Ikea to the area and so we expect the first few weeks will be quite busy,’ says Iain Crone, Aberdeen store manager.
The third small format store will open in the summer on Dale End, Birmingham.
The small store format is designed to offer a click and collect facility while acting as a planning studio to plan and order more complex purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas. A small selection of products will be available from stock.
The first small format store opened in Norwich last year.
