Training twice as good
The Flooring Guild has doubled its carpet selling training for newcomers to the industry to meet demand.
The organisation’s three day Selling Quality Carpets course was run twice over a two week period to allow 35 retailers to attend.
Held at Cormar Carpets’s Brookhouse Mill site, the carpet training courses, run by Ray Morgan, are designed to help retailers train staff new to the carpet and flooring industry. The course provides basic product knowledge about carpets, selling techniques and how to plan and estimate effectively.
‘This year, due to demand, we ran two three-day courses which worked extremely well. We are delighted that we are able to provide this training to the industry and every year – this was the eighth – we get really good feedback from the carpet retailers that attend. I am sure that the training not only helps not them in terms of their sales, but also their overall customer service,’ says says David Cormack, Cormar marketing director.
