Beds and bedroom boosts John Lewis
John Lewis secured an almost double digit increase in furniture sales last week.
The chain saw furniture sales rise by 8.7% in the week to 21 May, ‘thanks to especially strong sales in beds and bedroom,’ according to Christine Kasoulis, John Lewis home buying director.
‘The improving weather drove outdoor living product sales which were up 11.9%.’
Overall home sales were up 5% in the week and by 5.8% in the 16 week period.
Total sales were 6.1% higher at £75.5m and were 5.7% higher for the 16 weeks.
