Mawston become creative director at Blendworth
Emma Mawston has been appointed as creative director by fabric and wallcoverings producer Blendworth.
Mawston was a colourist at Liberty for five years before becoming head of design fashion fabrics in 1998, before adding art fabric and interiors to her role in 2013.
‘Emma’s innate talent and creative vision are an invaluable asset to Blendworth. What I love about Emma is how she immerses herself fully into the creative process - she lives and breathes art and design – she’s a true artist. Her experience of the fabric world, on both the fashion and interiors side is also an asset for the commercial side of the business – creating collections which are true works of art and which I know will excite and inspire our customers,’ says Andy Hancock, Blendworth md.
‘Joining Blendworth is a very exciting opportunity. Its heritage, recent collaborations and Andy’s vision for the business are truly inspiring. They provide a plethora of opportunities for visual storytelling, new patterns, and interpretations of so many fantastic archival designs. Having grown up in Hampshire myself – home to Blendworth - makes this opportunity even more rewarding, working for a business which is part of British history, promoting the Hampshire countryside and its charming and original influences on Blendworth’s designs,’ says Mawston.
