Stokers, Roomes and Ena Shaw share AIS retail awards
Stokers, Roomes of Upminster and Ena Shaw have been named as AIS retailers of the year, voted for by the buying group’s suppliers.
AIS increased the number of awards this year by splitting the larger turnover group category in to two: one for single store retailers and one for multiple store retailers. For the second year running, Stokers picked up the member of the year award, Glasswells was second and Sterling Furniture was third.
Roomes of Upminster won the member of the year award in the single store category with Arighi Bianchi second and the Barkers Home Store third.
In the smaller turnover group, St Helens retailer Ena Shaw (pictured) won the award for the first time, ahead of Eyres of Chesterfield and Woods Furniture of Dorchester.
The awards were presented yesterday (31 August) on the first day of the AIS September furniture and furnishing accessories show which was attended by a record number of members and suppliers and saw an unprecedented amount of new exclusive ranges being launched for AIS members.
Peter Mallinson, AIS merchandise director home said the competition for the awards was as strong as he had known.
