Great British Furniture Month gains momentum
June's promotion of British manufactured furniture is gaining support among retailers.
Just three weeks after it was launched by the BFM, Great British Furniture Month has gained the support of more than 40 independent and multiple retailers.
June is the month before the Olympic Games and the month of the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Patriotic fervour will be high and a national advertising campaign will make sure that consumers know all about us. The response from retailers has been great and in just three weeks, over 40 independent and multiple stores have registered to be a part of it,' says the BFM's Adam Mason.
'British manufacturers including Alstons, Arthur Brett, Ashwood, Bridgecraft, Buoyant, Caxton, Corndell, Derwent, Hypnos, JC&MP Smith, Lebus, Multiyork, Parker Knoll, Spirit, The Quality Furniture Company, Vale Upholstery and Westbridge are currently involved and that list is growing all the time, so it's not too late for other manufacturers to get involved.
'For retailers to get involved, the requirement is that they stock product from at least five of our manufacturers and thus show a commitment to supporting the Great British Furniture campaign. They will then be provided with an in-store POS package, including tent cards, counter cards, wobblers, banners and window stickers, as well as digital logos for their website. Retailers will also be listed in the directory at greatbritishfurniture.co.uk – the website featured in all national advertising.'
