Silvera confirms London opening
Upmarket French furniture, lighting, flooring and gift chain Silvera has confirmed a revised opening date for its first journey across the Channel.
The 10 store chain will open at 241-245 King’s Road on 28 June. The opening had originally been planed for March.
The 5,380sqft two-storey store, designed by French architectural firm Jouin Manku, carefully retains many of the building’s original architectural features, including a large windowed façade, exposed brick walls and an orangery, illuminated by a Bocci lighting installation intertwined with living plants. In the basement eight vaults will house a rotating showcase of design icons.
The ground floor will include furniture pieces by brands such as Cassina, Hay, Moroso, Fritz Hansen, Vitra, Walter Knoll, Living Divani, Edra, Porro, Baxter, Zanotta, Glas Italia, Overgaard & Dyrman, Editions and Petite Friture.
In addition, Silvera will house lighting brands Bocci, Flos, Lee Broom, Brokis, as well as rugs from cc-tapis, Kasthall, Paola Lenti and Golran.
Uniquely for the chain, the London showroom will also include a concept store stocking giftable items and lifestyle brands including Christofle, La Boite Concept, Venini, Minimalux, Verreum, Imperfetto Lab, Seletti, Zaha Hadid and Native Union.
It also plans to hold exhibitions.
