Bed Show praised
The Bed Show has been praised by visiting retailers as visitor numbers remained above 1,500.
‘As usual the Bed Show at Telford this year was a very worthwhile and enjoyable two days. The atmosphere and organisation of the event seems to get better every year and many suppliers again showcased some fantastic product. It is always good, as a buyer, to spend time at this event with all our major suppliers and colleagues from the industry,’ said Mark Cort, Bensons for Beds commercial director.
‘For any serious retailers selling beds, the Bed Show is the key date for your diary. It is such a great place to meet all the industry’s leading companies under one roof. By attending the event, you gain unique access to a network of key decision makers within the trade and can learn first-hand what’s going to be big for business in the year ahead. In my opinion, this year’s show was the best yet; we will definitely be attending next year,’ said Mike Murray, Land of Beds md.
‘The Bed Show has become a really important event in the show calendar for us, a chance to see all of our suppliers in one place and to really focus on beds. This year’s show had some new faces and the presentation improves every year,’ said Jayne Muluka, Leekes furniture buying controller.
‘I thought that this year’s show was excellent. The quality and presentation of each stand was superb. If you contrast this to the first show, things have come a long way. I'm sure it must be difficult keeping each supplier within the constraints of the agreed maximum stand size but I do think the show is all better for it. Suppliers certainly have to think about what products they want to bring to the trade and each brand has an equal standing in terms of presence. Overall a great event,’ said Mark Graves, FGS Furnishings md.
‘I thought the bed show was great – it ups its game each year,’ said Rebecca Maloy, Furniture Village bed buyer.
‘Over the past eight years, visitor numbers have remained fairly consistent and this show was no different. Over the two days, we had more than 1,500 visitors with 15% revisiting on the second day. Exhibitor feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with many commenting that it seemed particularly busy this year,’ said Jessica Alexander, NBF executive director.
Next year’s show will take place from 18-19 September.
