The Wooden Floor Store has franchise ambitions
Flooring retailer The Wooden Floor Store hopes to treble in size by setting up franchises across the country.
The company, which was founded in 1998 in Belfast as The Wooden Floor Company (which it trades as in Northern Ireland), wants to grow from seven branches to more than 20.
It has set a target of £1m of turnover from its first London franchise store in Parsons Green (pictured), which would increase sales to £6m.
‘We’re in the early stages of discussions about another London location. We aren’t resting on our laurels, instead targeting a tripling of the size of our business over the next three to five years, targeting more than 20 showrooms. We’re looking at franchising as a vehicle for our growth and have a number of interested parties across the country,’ said co-founder Richard Snape.
Ross Nicholl, co-founder said the company can support the expansion as it has ‘the infrastructure in place to import and store products. Since Richard and I set up the business 18 years ago, we’ve developed more than 100 products, managing every stage of the process from forest to shop floor.’
As well as the Belfast and London stores, the company has four branches in central Scotland and one in Lisburn.
