September suffers footfall drop
Retail parks saw footfall increase last month, while high streets and shopping centres suffered another fall.
Retail parks provided the bright spot in September, according to the British Retail Consortium/Springboard Footfall Monitor. Shopper numbers rose by 0.1%, but this was down on August’s 0.3%.
High streets saw a 2.2% drop while shopping centres saw a 2.4% fall.
Overall footfall fell by 1.7%.
