BFM to embrace the cloud
The BFM is to switch to remote working and close its Long Eaton office.
The organisation will use the telephone switchboard of the Bloxham Mill business centre near Banbury, Oxfordshire and hold meeting there when required.
Nick Garratt, BFM md says internal administration has been improved by adopting a cloud-based, document management system, enabling it to operate without the need for a permanent, physical office space.
‘Productivity is crucial to any organisation and moving to a virtual workplace has been part of a drive to streamline systems, decrease costs and improve efficiency. This will help us to create a platform to focus our resources on improving the service we deliver to our members. Furthermore, we are doing our bit for the environment by reducing our carbon footprint through reduced travel and use of paper. This virtual workplace solution enables the team to be located in any location which will open up the available talent base for the organisation to grow its range of services in the future,’ he says.
The switch is due to happen on 1 August. The Long Eaton office opened in July 2018.
