Lewis enters Wool Carpet And Rug Awards Hall of Fame

Shaun Lewis Hall of Fame AwardShaun Lewis, Brockway Carpets sales director received the The Campaign For Wool Wool Carpet and Rug Awards, in association with British Wool Hall Of Fame Award, announced on Monday evening at The Flooring Show.

Starting his career with Tomkinson Carpets in 1970, Lewis served in the pattern room and sales office before being given an opportunity as a salesman. He took up his first field sales position in the North West of England in 1980, before moving to the East Anglia region. In 1983 Shaun moved again to the South East as a field sales rep, living near Bournemouth and covering a patch which included the Channel Isles.

Following much success, including awards as Salesman of the Year, his true potential was recognised and he moved back to Kidderminster in 1990 to take on the position of national sales manager.

His key attributes of great energy and enthusiasm, allied to strong commercial awareness, meant he achieved huge success in this position which he held with distinction until he was head hunted by John Duncan and moved to Victoria Carpets in 2001 as national sales manager. He was promoted to sales and marketing director in 2004.

In 2014 he moved to Brockway Carpets as its first sales director. Once again his great energy and positivity, along with an ability to recognise the need for change and a clear understanding of the market and commercial opportunity, has been key to seeing Brockway’s sales increase by over 40% in the time he has been at the company.

Alongside his lengthy and outstanding sales career with three of the foremost carpet manufacturers in Kidderminster, he has also served on the board of the Carpet Foundation and been chairman of Kidderminster’s Charity Golf Tournament for many years; raising many tens of thousands of pounds for MacMillan Cancer Care and local Kidderminster Charities, amongst others.
