Heimtextil blog: Calm but order books are being filled

Blog1For the next few days we’ll be bring you the latest news and thoughts from Heimextil, Domotex and IMM Cologne: Calm but order books are being filled.

Estimating how a show is going on the first day is never a brilliant idea, so basing it on two hours is probably even more stupid, but here goes.

Halls were not exactly what you’d call packed or busy but the order books were being well used, at least in the branded bed linen/towel halls. Stands were largely occupied by retailers sorting their orders, leaving other obvious stockists or potential stockists hovering to catch the next available sales rep.

No-one was claiming records or a change in the overall market but calm optimism was the order of the day.

In product terms, there was a clear dividing line: traditional designs largely opted for classical white while for more modern looks bold was everywhere, in both colour options and designs.
