Show organiser looks to Indonesia
Exhibition organiser UBM is adding to its network of trade shows, following claims the Indonesia furniture export industry is worth £1.14bn and is forecast to triple within five years.
The company is partnering with the Indonesia Furniture Association to launch the Indonesia International Furniture Exposition (IFEX) next year. It will be held from 11-14 March at the Jakarta International Expo and 12-15 March 2014 at the Jakarta Convention Center. According to UBM, 500 furniture manufacturers will exhibit at IFEX, and more than 5,000 international visitors are expected to attend.
Indonesia has a vast furniture industry and it is ready to further expand its already substantial export potential,' says Christopher Eve, UBM Asia senior vice president.
'Indonesia's strengths lay in its manufacturers' high level of craftsmanship, manufacturing capacity and traditional as well as modern designs. In addition, Indonesia has ample supplies of raw materials, from sustainably sourced woods to rattan, bamboo and fabrics.'
